Using the new keyboard on iOS 13 and iPadOS

The new keyboard in iOS 13 and iPadOS includes some surprises, including a paint-by-type feature, new Animoji and Memoji stickers.

Writing away this tiny keyboard on your iPhone (or the larger one for iPad) can be slow and awkward. Even with features such as text recognition and auto-correction, you still need to go through these little buttons to create a text message, an e-mail, a note, or a document.

Not anymore. On iOS 1

3 and iPadOS, you can use the QuickPath feature to make words and phrases easier to create. It's similar to the Glide option, which has long been available on Google's Gboard keyboard and other third-party android keyboards for Android and iOS devices.

With QuickPath, you simply slide your finger from one character to another to form each word. The feature uses Artificial Intelligence to determine the word you want to spell and how to handle it. QuickPath is not perfect. It does not always predict your word correctly, especially if it's a name or an unusual word. You also need to enter numbers, punctuation and other characters by tapping on them. But it's effective and fast enough that you'll love it via the standard tap-and-type method.

The new mobile operating systems also offer a few other cool features for your keyboard. Look at it below.
