When shopping for smart light bulbs, you will usually see two options; only white and color. Color lamps usually cost a bit more, but they allow you to adjust your lighting to any color of the rainbow.

So you can have fun with your lights. Out of the box, many models have lighting settings that mimic sunrise or sunset, turning the light from an invigorating bluish white to a soothing warm orange.

In addition, you can program your lights (often with the help of IFTTT, Alexa or Google Assistant) to change the colors when your alarms are triggered or you receive a new email. You can also make them slowly disappear into the darkness while you fall asleep or slowly light up at sunrise.
