Upgrading to the Latest Version

When Microsoft provides the update for your PC, it automatically installs. However, Microsoft does not offer new Windows updates for all PCs at the same time. Instead, they are slowly being provided by Microsoft over time after both Microsoft and the various PC makers have verified that they are causing problems with different hardware configurations. If your PC does not receive the update, Microsoft is still not sure if it works on your hardware.

You can override this and still install the update. Finally, if you have problems, you can always get back your current version of Windows 10, if you do so within 10 days of the upgrade. There is some risk here, but you are still installing a stable operating system update.

To install the update anyway, go to Settings> Update & Security> Windows Update and click on the "Check for Updates" button. If a stable version of Windows 10 is available, Windows Update may be able to download and install it – even if it is not already installed on your PC. Look for the "Download and install now" link, which states that a "feature update" is available for your PC.
