What to do if your phone does not make a Wi-Fi connection?

Problems with the Wi-Fi connection are very frustrating. Maybe it's just me, but they usually happen at the worst time, when you need to check something online, write an important email, and so on. If you're having trouble connecting your Android smartphone to a Wi-Fi network, you're not alone. This is a common problem that unfortunately happens to many users from time to time.

In this post, we'll look at six bug fixes that may help you solve your connectivity problem and get you back online if your phone does not make a Wi-Fi connection. We dive.

. 1 Verify connection settings

The first step in connecting your phone to Wi-Fi is obvious: Check if there is Wi-Fi on your Android device. Turned on.

The reason for the connection problem may be that you are trying to connect to the wrong network. This can sometimes happen, especially if your neighbors have the same ISP and, in some cases, similar network names. Make sure you check what your network is called by looking at the back or bottom of your router. You will see a small sticker with the desired information.

If you find that you have actually tried to connect to the correct network, the next step is to verify the password. You will find this information on the same label as the network name. Retype the password for the network to which you want to connect, and see if the problem is resolved. Note, however, that the password must be case-sensitive.

. 3 Restart your router and your smartphone.

It's quite possible that the router is to blame for your connection issues, not your smartphone. This happens constantly and is in most cases quite easy to fix. Simply unplug the router from the power outlet and wait at least 30 seconds before plugging it back in again. After that you have to wait a minute or two for the router to turn on again. After setup, try reconnecting to the network to see if things are working the way they should.

If this is not the case, you should also restart your device. Sometimes this can solve a lot of different issues related to smartphones and takes less than a minute. Simply press and hold the power button, select the restart option, wait for the device to turn back on, and then check if the connection problem persists.

. 4 Forget the Wi-Fi network and reconnect.

If you forget the network and then reconnect, the next solution that may solve your problem is the next one. To do this, open the settings menu, find the Wi-Fi option, and select your network. Your screen will display a window with some information, including the "Forget" button. What that looks like, you see in the picture above.

Tap on it, then reconnect to the same network with your password. As mentioned above, the sticker is located on the back or bottom of your router. The password must be case-sensitive, which should be noted when entering it.

. 5 Perform a factory reset.

This is not a good option, but if the bug fixes described above are unsuccessful, it's definitely worth trying them out. Resetting to factory settings eliminates any software errors on your device that may have caused connection problems. It is not difficult and does not take much time. The easiest way to reset to factory defaults is in Settings. Just go to Settings and find the Backup and Reset menu, which may be slightly different on your device. Tap on it, select the option to reset to factory settings and delete the data from your device.

Once the smartphone turns back on, you will need to perform the installation process again, just as you did the first time. Next, enable Wi-Fi, select your network, and try to connect by entering the password. Hopefully everything will work now and you can easily connect to the internet.

. 6 Call the Repair Technician


If none of the above solutions work, the problem is not quite as low as you might expect. There may be a hardware issue with your smartphone or router.

Try to connect at least one other device to the Wi-Fi network, which causes headaches. If there is no connection, there is a good chance that something is wrong with your router. Unfortunately, this happens quite often, but luckily it's not that hard to solve. Just call your ISP, explain the problem, and someone should come to your home to replace and set up the broken router with a new one.

The problem may be with your smartphone. I said could because there are cases where some routers with certain devices are not working, which happened to me recently. In this case, the router should be replaced by another one.

You can test this by trying to connect your device to a friend or restaurant, for example, on a different Wi-Fi network. If you can not connect, the problem may be with your smartphone. You should have it repaired. If the warranty still exists or you are insured by phone, this should not be a big deal.
