Fortunately, you do not have to wait any longer because Google adds a new setting for iPhone users that will prevent them from automatically loading images when they open an email. The setting also blocks the tracking of unwanted emails from spammers.

The update checks the images to make sure there is no suspicious content that allows the sender to track your location and use cookies. Gmail also ensures that the images do not contain harmful software. When Google discovers something suspicious, Gmail does not display the images and offers you the option to open them instead.
