We interrupt your binge watch to bring you this important message. Similar to the news from the Emergency Broadcasting System that appeared while watching TV, Netflix has begun showing trailers for its programs between the episodes you are watching or binging. To be clear, it currently only tests the number of in-house ads for just one segment of its subscribers, but all users are automatically enabled for the test. Fortunately, you can get out of these followers politely and quickly to break your binge watch.
The new ads from Netflix should be disabled.
If you want to sign out, you must access Netflix in a browser on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. You can not opt out of ads with the Netflix app.
If Netflix is open in a browser, tap the Hamburger button on the top left (on mobile device) or click on your profile picture in the top right corner (on a computer) and then select Account . Scroll down the Account page to the Settings section and select Test Attendance . You will see a single toggle switch for Include in test and preview . Toggle Off and click or type Done .
Boom, no more advertising. Well, there are no other ads unless Netflix shifts this feature from the test level to the default environment. At this point I will update this article with a possible setting that allows you to log out of the non-test participation ads.
