For some people Thanksgiving is just a great time with family and friends they can not have for the rest of the year. For others it's the one time when it's okay to be a greedy pig and get hammered all weekend.

In this spirit of eating and drinking until we drop, we have found some of the best Thanksgiving Day Recipes that combine your traditional favorite dishes with the alcohol of your choice. We speak of starters, main courses and desserts with wine, cider, vodka and much more – there is something for everyone!

These are not a substitute for all the wine and beer you drink, so be sure to stock up on them throughout your holiday season.

Cheddar & Hard Cider Fondue

Fondue is one of the most amazing things in the entire culinary world – especially when it comes to seasonal fondue. Make the Food Network version of cheddar and hardcidre fondue and literally dip everything you can before you eat it: sausages, bread, vegetables, pretzels, sweets. (Everything tastes better with cheese!) Add bourbon to the fondue cider and so you know you'll enjoy it.

Green Bean Casserole is a classic that can not be touched – or so to speak, until you get a grip on this juicy, greasy version. We also like the addition of mozzarella cheese for a little sticky flavor and the soy sauce for a little bit of smell.

8. Rum Pumpkin Pie

If you thought the food was over, think again. Since you are still working at this point in your meal, you must round off all this hearty food with the pièce de résistance : Pumpkin Pie. (Or should we say rum-kin-pie?)

Dark molasses and dark rum make this iteration of pumpkin pie terrificly good. Opt for the cream instead of the fat-free condensed milk (because it's Thanksgiving and you do not hate yourself).
