You can finally swipe up to closing apps on the iPhone X again «iOS & iPhone :: Gadget Hacks

Apple has finally released iOS 12 for everyone to enjoy, and there are many cool features to try. Perhaps the coolest feature, at least for those of us with an iPhone X, is the return of a frequently used gesture that we loved on other model iPhones.

When the iPhone X arrived on iOS 11, there was an odd, three-step gesture to closing apps through the App Switcher. You swipe up to open the App Switcher, tapping an app card and then tap the little red button for each app from which you want to quit the app. While it set itself apart from iPhone models that used the traditional method of double-clicking the Home button, followed by a swipe on app maps, it turned out to be less intuitive.

Luckily, iOS 1

2 has the old hint gesture for a more intuitive gesture of forcible apps. Instead, you'll now get a smoother gesture that basically causes you to swipe up to open the App Switcher and then wipe up a destination app to close it. You can even use multiple fingers to wipe and kill multiple apps at once. It's pretty much the same as any other iPhone, except when it comes to accessing the App Switcher, as there's no Home button.
