Amazon just made it easier for musicians to reach larger audiences when they stream a live concert. Musicians can now link their Twitch profile to their artist page on Amazon Music, so fans can watch live streams through the music streaming service instead of having to switch to (or download) the Twitch app.
Livestreams are de facto a way for musicians to connect with their audience and for people to enjoy live music while the pandemic has halted annual music tours. Twitch has seen a surge in the popularity of music streaming over the past six months and now, with this integration, hopefully even more people can enjoy shows (or even discussions or behind the scenes events) straight from their favorite artists.
Once an artist or band has set up their Twitch channel and connected it to their artist profile page, all live streams will be displayed on their artist page and a notification will notify the followers of the stream. Amazon Music will also have a “Live”
While Amazon Music is one of the smaller music streaming services, that integration is a powerful feature that isn’t really seen elsewhere. Some of the service’s competitors offer music video integration, podcasts, audiobooks, and other features. With a feature that allows fans to watch live shows in real time, Amazon Music is well prepared for the future.
