You can still stream Hamilton on Disney Plus, but there is no free trial. Here’s how to watch

Because of the extraordinary challenges during the global pandemicMost of us won’t be going to the theater to see a musical anytime soon, and even movie theaters are still tricky. While you may not be able to see live theater, at least now you can watch the movie version of the world’s hottest Broadway production for a fraction of the price of an actual ticket. Tony Award winning hip hop Musical Hamilton is available for streaming Disney Plus. The production, which was filmed back in June 2016 with the original cast, was originally slated to hit theaters, but Disney Plus decided to put it on the streaming service on July 3.

Be warned that if you want to see this original production on Broadway, you will need a paid subscription to Disney Plus. The streaming service is no more Offer free trials that would let people use it for seven days without paying a dime. So if you want to watch Hamilton instead of just singing along to the soundtrack, you’ll need to sign up for a paid subscription account (read on for more information).

The musical is hailed as an extremely creative way to present a modern retelling of Alexander Hamilton’s journey to the founding father of the United States. Created by composer, playwright, performer and producer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton won 11 Tony Awards in 2016 and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize in Drama.

This production of Hamilton with the original Broadway cast was filmed in 2016. This original cast consists mostly of black, Latin American, and Asian-American cast members, including Miranda herself.

Aaron Burr and George Washington are among the characters on the stage, along with the title founder. The show includes popular songs like My Shot, Yorktown (The world turned upside down), and Wait for It. You can Stream the soundtrack for free on Spotify and you should definitely hear it before you see Hamilton. So, you can watch the Hamilton movie now that it is available Disney Plus.

What’s the big deal?

The Hamilton film version was originally scheduled to hit theaters in October 2021 but has been moved to an online broadcast on Disney Plus due to theater closings during the coronavirus pandemic.

With the show’s Broadway performances on hold until further notice due to COVID-19, fans can only watch the award-winning musical on Disney Plus. Tickets to a live performance of Hamilton, often sold out in arcades across the country, ranged from $ 149 and up. A Disney subscription is definitely cheaper.

Is Hamilton’s Explicit Language Censored?

Before streaming became available on Disney Plus, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda officially confirmed that the film will censor two uses of the F-word while one use is still on the show. There are several examples of the S word and some sexual situations in the Disney broadcast of the film. The Hamilton film is rated PG-13.
