You can undo sending in Outlook as in Gmail

  Microsoft Outlook Logo

The Undo Send Gmail feature is very popular with How-To Geek. However, you can use the same option in Outlook.com and in the Microsoft Outlook desktop application. To set it up:

The option in Outlook.com and Microsoft Outlook works the same as it does in Gmail: If you enable this option, Outlook waits a few seconds before sending e-mail. After clicking on the "Submit" button, you will have a few seconds to click the "Undo" button. This prevents Outlook from sending the e-mail. If you do not click the button, Outlook sends the email as usual. You can not undo sending an e-mail that has already been sent.

How to Enable Undo Send on Outlook.com

Outlook.com, also known as Outlook Web App, has a modern version and a classic version. Most users of Outlook.com should now have the modern look of their email account, which by default has a completely blue bar.

If you still have it If you have the classic version that still comes from many Enterprise versions (the work email provided by your company) is used, a black bar is displayed by default.

 The classic black Outlook bar "width =" 347 "height =" 60 "src =" /pagespeed_static/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif "onload =" pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon (this); "onerror =" this.onerror = null; pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfIfIf

In both cases, the process is generally the same, but the location of the settings is slightly different. Regardless of which version you use, Undo Send works the same way. This means that during the time that it waits to send your e-mail, Outlook needs to open the browser and keep the computer turned on. Otherwise the message will not be sent.

In Modern View, click the Settings cogwheel and then click Show All Outlook Settings.

If you continue to use Outlook.com's classic view, click the Settings gear, and then click Mail.

In the classic version you may be able to select up to 30 seconds, in the modern version it is only 10 seconds. Some users still have the "Try the new Outlook" button in the top right corner When you click this button, Outlook will be upgraded to the current version.

<img class = "alignnone wp-image-423317 size-full" dat a-page speed-lazy-src = "https://www.howtogeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/x9-Try-the-new-Outlook.png.pagespeed.gp+jp+jw+pj + ws + js + rj + rp + rw + ri + cp + md.ic.HwNxXaiFuz.png "alt =" The "Try out the new Outlook" option is "width =" 300 "height =" 91 "src = "/pagespeed_static / 1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif" onload = "pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon (this);" onerror = "this.onerror = null; pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfIfVisibleA [1945]

The 30-second limit still works in the modern version. However, if you try to change the setting in the modern version, it will be reset to 10 seconds without you being able to reset it to 30 seconds. There is no way to know when Microsoft will "fix" this discrepancy, but eventually all users will be upgraded to the modern version, and you should be prepared to maintain a maximum of 10 seconds for undo in this case.
